Why your ears pop when you drive up a steep mountain road?
1. Explain why your ears pop when you drive up a steep mountain road. Why do they also pop when you drive back down?
2. Airline companies pressurize the cabins of aircraft so passengers do not experience rapid changes in air pressure. On at least once occasion, however, an airplane’s pressurization system failed and a passenger last her hearing. Explain how the depressurization of the Cabin may have caused this hearing loss.
3. Why may it be painful to travel into the mountains (or in a plane) when you have a cold?
4. Why did the owners of clubs and ballrooms with wooden dance floors often ban women from wearing shoes with stiletto heels?
Customer Service answers:
Your middle ear cavity is connected to the inside of your throat by your eustachian tube. This tube has a valve ind that controls the pressure in and outside your middle ear space by allowing air to either come in or go out. When a sudden pressure builds up on either side the valve can’t mannually process this fast and The pressure stays built up into you hold your nose and close your mouth and blow gently to try to push some sir into he ME space. You may also try to chew gum to loosen those valves and let a little pressure in and out. The cabin of a plain isn’t pressurizes enough to avoid these changes. When you have a cold pressure is already likely built up in your mid ear space and your eustacchian tube may be sore and swollen and working even less effectively to equalize pressure. Stiletto heels produce a lot of pressure on a small point and that caused dents on softwood. Why do I feel like I just did an 8th graders homework on pressure?

Robert asks…
Difference between normal cut and undercut heel?
While reading online about the kind of Salsa shoe I need buy – I came acroos this – “the Ballroom heel is low and normally cut, the Latin heel is a little higher and tilted (undercut) (this is especially common on women‘s open-toed models). We think that Ballroom heels should be your top choice for Ballroom, Swing and Salsa dancing”. I do not understand the difference between normal cut and under cut. Can somebody provide additional explanation / pictures to clarify.
Customer Service answers:
An undercut heel means the heel is narrower than the shoe and is preferred for Latin style dancing (pointy heels). A ‘regular’ heel is wider. The wider the heel the more stability you will have, so pick one you’re comfortable in.

While this is a picture of boots you can see the difference between the two, undercut on left: http://www.boot.com/LoggerVsRegularHeelSml.jpg

Sometimes you get what you pay for…and for $10? You may be wasting your money.
