About Ballroom Dancing Shoes – Faq

Charles asks…

where can i get ballroom dancing shoes?

I need some ballroom/latin dancing shoes. Is there a shop in london/north london or middlesex/enfield area which sells them?

Customer Service answers:

I would look online for different retailers depending on which brand you are looking for. Http://www.dancenaturals.it/en/distributors/ is the site for dance naturals. I would try ray rose and supadance as well. When you find the stores that carry these brands they usually carry more than one. If you have already been fitted I would jsut order them directly online as sometimes it is a bit less expensive this way. If it is your first pair, I would go to a store and get fitted first. You can always order them online after that.

Daniel asks…

Where can I find stylish men’s ballroom dancing shoes?

I realize I may be searching for a unicorn but I would like to purchase some ballroom dance shoes for my husband that look more like street dress shoes. It seems the ones I find all look a little dated and “dorky”. Thanks for the help in advance!

Customer Service answers:

There are plenty to choose from on this page…I hope you find what you’re looking for!

Donna asks…

good shoes for ballroom dancing?

I’m 13, and possibly starting ballroom. what are some good but cheap shoes that I could wear for lessons? or what are some shoes I could use as ballroom dancing shoes? also what do I wear ? I don’t want to wear a skirt at first… so what would be good?

Customer Service answers:

If you aren’t going to a be a serious competition student then you probably don’t need shoes that are made specifically for ballroom dance. In general you want a pair of high heels with relatively wide heels to walk on (rather than stiletto type heels), a strap around your ankle or the top of your foot (rather than a sling back, this help hold the shoe to your foot while you dance), and straps around the widest part of you foot just before you toes (rather than directly across you toes where the strap could irritate them or prevent you from rising onto your toes.)
That might sound like a lot but really the most important part is an ankle strap. Otherwise you will fighting to keep the shoe on rather learning an dancing the steps properly.
If you simply must have ballroom shoes here are a few website with fairly cheep shoes.
