Ballroom Dancing

- I need a great black dress for ballroom?
I am in a ballroom dancing clas and i need a black dress with a full, moveable skirt that is about knee length. needs to be modest-ish. not like turtleneck modest though :) thanks so much!

- A black dress for ballroom Competition (read for details)10pts?
I am training for a ballroom competition in February. We are entering the Bronze level so I can't wear a costume. I have to wear a black dress with short sleeves, no v-neck, no sparkles or anything like that, not too short (it can be above my knees, just not really skimpy) and preferably stretchy since I will be doing three Latin routines in it. Any ideas of dresses you have found or help would be appreciated as I have had zero luck finding one! Also if you can tell me whether I can just wear a top and skirt (to look like a dress) would be great if you have ballroom/Latin competition experience. Also, I live in Canada so preferably stores that are in Canada or at least ship to Canada would be great to post. Thanks in Advance!!! And I will award best answer! ms_m2you: ya LaClassique. A I agree with ms_m2you, Malabar is a good shop, but there are other dance shops that you could visit. If you are in a competition, you could ask some of the other competitors from the studio where they purchase their costumes. I looked up Canada little black dress, and found some links that I have shown below. The littleblackdressshop is in Toronto. You could also look at second hand shops or nostalgia shops for some ideas. I know a number of ladies that enter competitions wearing a body shirt and a skirt with a belt to make it look like a dress. I have included the link to the Rules that state that you can wear a skirt and blouse.
