Ideas and Children Ballroom Dance Shoes Reviews - FAQ and Questions
- where do you sell an unused pair ballroom shoes?
i have a pair of these: http://shop.melodysdanceshoes.com/images/1193616578168-796002317.jpeg brand new. never used just tried on. size 4.5..slightly too small on me. has dust bag and orig box and has been kept clean and safe. the seller wont take it back for an exchange. i spent 90 something on them inlcuding shiping. its a horrible waste, i want to sell them getting back as much as i can as i got NO use from them. ebay isnt proving to be a successful route. and finding people in the many studios i frequent isnt working bc no one has a foot that tiny. if they do theyre a child most likely and dont dance at all.. either that or the parents dont want to spend full price on something their kid would outgrow. i have yet to find an adult dancer with that tiny a foot. any ideas?? i said ebay isnt a successful route. theres not many ballroom shoes on there anyway, and this size isnt common. id want to start it at 79.99 like i bought them for but people would be discouraged from that "high" of a price even if they are completely unused.
A craigslist, maybe you could go to a local dance studio and see if someone would buy them.

- How important to you is a "socks required rule" in a no-shoes play place?
I run music classes for children 8mos-5yrs. We've been doing it for some time and spread gyms mats throughout a room with hardwood floors. Moms and kids alike take off their shoes and we have a socks required rule, and sometimes socks get forgotten, but it's been okay. We keep the place very clean, washing the mats between each class. We just starting in a new location, a ballroom dancing studio to be precise, and again we put mats on the floor. However, the problem we're having now is that the moment those little ones step off in their socks into the mat onto the floor (we only use a third of this huge room) they slip and fall on these very sleek laminate floors. Keeping shoes on wouldn't be so comfortable during class with all our floor type activities, and would be damaging to the mats. I could require socks for adults, but I'd really prefer to request bare feet for the children. As a parent, what would you think of that?
A I see nothing wrong with bare feet if the place is noticeably sanitary. Safety first...if they are apt to have an accident because of socks...take the socks off! Keep it clean, and the kids can wash their feet when they get home, or provide baby wipes for them to clean their feet before and after playing in the studio (that could cut down on the dirt and grime).
