- Ballroom dance shoes--a good idea for a wedding?
I'm getting married in January. It's a Catholic wedding, so the ceremony will be an hour long and then we'll have the reception. I'm looking for comfortable but pretty shoes. Are ballroom/latin dance shoes a practicle option? Are they comfortable?

A Yes, they are comfortable, a lot of people get them as their wedding shoes. Ballroom shoes is a better option than Latin because they are center balanced. Latin shoes are forward balanced, they'll push your weight forward. Besides, Ballroom shoes (pumps) are a lot more fitting to a formal occasion in my opinion.

- What are the best ballroom dance shoes?
I'm looking for something comfortable, with arch support, fashionable is a plus! I'm new to dancing. Although we are mostly doing swing, I'm not fond of the look of swing shoes. Furthermore Id like something I can wear at my wedding. What are the best brands? Thanks!

A Ladies seem to have a tougher time of this than we guys do. My discussions through the years have led me to think women simply have to try different brands to fit the minor peculiarities of their feet that are more subtle than just getting the proper size. All the professionals I've ever talked to have tried all the major brands (Capezio, Supadance, Freed, etc.) and found their favorite on the brute method of trial and error.
